Working as a GP in Brighton

Park Crescent Health Centre has been working with HERE Ltd to look at how we can promote and offer more opportunities for GPs wishing to work in Salaried roles. We understand that flexiblity is key and as such both Park Crescent and HERE are keen to develop this working relationship, particularly around GP recruitment and development.

We want to take a fresh, new approach to Salaried GP roles in Brighton that provides opportunity and flexibility for GPs. We appreciate the changing environment in primary care and would like to offer something that fits with an individual’s development, interests and out-of-work commitments. We can offer any number of sessions, working across sites in Brighton that provide a stable, supportive team environment while allowing for the flexibility to support a portfolio career.

Traditional Salaried GP role

Participating in all aspects of clinical delivery within several GP practices, we have sessions available throughout the week to suit your personal timetable.

Clinical leadership

Working in partnership with Here Ltd, you would have the opportunity to combine your role as a GP delivering primary care services while developing your clinical leadership skills by supporting local initiatives, (such are developing “back office” teams, shared across practices) and national programmes of work.

If you are returning to work after a break or simply need to work in a supported way, you can work with us as a retainer, up to 4 sessions per week. There are some great benefits from being part of this scheme alongside the additional support from a GP trainer or mentor, provided within your allocated sessions.  GPs who are eligible can receive an annual supplement that can be used to support professional and indemnity expenses.  For more information about this national scheme, See .

Newly Qualified

If you just completed your VTS and want some additional support in your first 1-2 years, post qualification, we can create a timetable for you that includes time for learning and reflection as well as regular scheduled time with a named GP mentor. We would be interested in discussing the structure of this to fit your needs, so please contact us to arrange an informal visit.

Interested in care of the elderly/frail people?

If this is an area of interest for you, we would set you up to run a bespoke service to our frail/elderly/housebound patients, holding a small list of patients identified with specific needs.  This is a new initiative which we would co-design with you.

School hours

If your kids are in school and you want to work flexibly so that you can factor in the “school run”, we can offer a “school hours” session, running  9.30am – 2.00pm.  Your session might look like this…..

9.30-10.30am – some combination of visits, paperwork, path etc

10.30 – 12noon – phone appts

12.30 – 1.30pm – face to face consultations

1.30 – 2.00pm – referrals, finishing up

Flexible timetable

If you would like a bespoke timetable, we may be able to accommodate this.  For example, to work term time only or you would like some whole days free with regular sessions in the evenings or at weekends, these could be undertaken in our shared Extended Hours Service.

Mix ‘n’ Match

If you’d like to combine 2 or more of the options listed above, then come and talk to us and we will do our very best to accommodate what works best for you. This is a flexible approach to making a GP role work for you.

Our package is competitive, flexible, dependent upon experience etc.  If you want to know more, please contact:
